This combination class is a great way for students to experience two different types of dance in a one-hour class. Students will learn both tap and ballet skills through imagination activities and movement games. Dancers will enjoy learning basic terminology along with fun and engaging games. More challenging patterns and steps are introduced as the dancers progress.
This class teaches students fundamental acrobatic moves that are performed on gymnastic mats. This class is strictly floor work that includes moves such as front and back rolls, handstands, backbends, cartwheels, walkovers, back handsprings, etc. Students learn flexibility and strength while acquiring valuable skills that can be applied in other areas.
Jazz is a fun type of movement suitable for ages 6+. Ballet background is helpful, but not a must. Generally, jazz is performed to upbeat music.
Hip Hop has a very urban flavor - not as structured as a more traditional dance style (such as ballet). Centre Stage staff places a lot of emphasis on making these class, movement, and music age appropriate and tasteful.
Modern dance originated from ballet as a form to break free from the structure of ballet. Now, the modern craze has become extremely versatile, branching out into what is currently called "contemporary".
These upbeat classes teach Broadway-style choreography, show stopping stage presence, and acting, with a focus on learning song-and-dance numbers from a variety of musical productions. We strive to put their concepts on stage when possible, making the experience fun for students of all ages.
This is a non-performing based class designed to develop stronger skills in flexibility, turns, and leaps. Technique class is designed to improve a dancer's range of motion, enhance muscle flexibility and build core strength..
Yes, we do offer adult classes in Tap, Ballet (beginner & advanced), Hip Hop, and Jazz. Our adults are given the option to perform in our spring recital. Hip Hop has participated for several years.
Our Barre class is being instructed by Mela Williams, who is currently training under a certified Barre and Yoga instructor. This class will focus on low impact exercises. It's a full body workout. Ideal for teens and adults.
